Robert Mathia is a seasoned commercial and corporate banker with extensive experience leading groups at large international financial institutions. Before retiring, he served as a Director at BMO, where he led the U.S. Banks coverage within the Americas team.
He joined the Board of Directors of Habib Canadian Bank in June 2019 and currently serves as the Chair of the Conduct Review and Risk Management Committee (CRRMC). In this role, he oversees governance related to compliance and risk matters at the Bank. The CRRMC reviews regulatory compliance reports, consumer protection programs, complaint statistics, and legislative developments in consumer protection. Additionally, he serves as the Chair of the Consumer Protection Committee, providing leadership on matters related to consumer rights and regulatory requirements.
