A GIC is an investment account that offers a guaranteed interest rate over a fixed period of time. With our Student GIC Program you can invest between $10,000 CAD – $50,000 CAD .

How does the Habib Canadian Bank Student Direct Stream program work?

Step 1 : Initiate Wire Transfer
A wire transfer of the total amount plus fee should be initiated before arrival
Step 2 : Bank Account Ready
$2,000 CAD plus any interest on arrival, deposited into your student bank account.
Step 3 : Receive Monthly Payments
Receive a portion plus interest of your investment back for each of the 12 months
Step 4 : Investment Back + Interest
After 12 months, you’ll have received your entire investment back, plus interest.

1. Submit your application online to Habib Canadian Bank, please ensure when attaching a copy of your ID that you attach both the front and back side of your ID to expedite your application process

2. Once your application has been submitted a representative from our bank will contact you.

3. Transfer you funds to your Habib Canadian Student Direct Stream Account by a wire transfer with the total amount of your deposit (i.e. CAD 10,000 + CAD 200 fees) from you local bank account in your country. Upon receiving the amount, we shall send you a confirmation mail i.e. "GIC Confirmation.

4. Apply for Study Permit

5. Submit your completed Study permit application and your GIC confirmation from the Bank to the Canadian visa authorities in your home country.
